Your Weekend Starts Here! So What’s In Store On Saturday?

By Sam Elliott

There’s is one game stealing focus this weekend of course but don’t be fooled - Saturday’s programme has plenty else to offer besides.

First visit second as Leyton Orient take on Wrexham but it’s not the only big game going on.

Third go to fifth too in what is surely the biggest day of the season to date.

Can Solihull Moors make the most of any dropped points in East London by winning at Salford City?

The Ammies firing once again and after two important wins back-to-back they will hope their rivals trip themselves up - but they need to take care of business themselves too.

It’s not only big fixtures at the top - keep your eyes on a six pointer in the bottom four as well.

Maidstone United’s survival hopes will surely suffer a terminal blow if they don’t win at home to Havant & Waterlooville.

Winless in seven, the Hawks themselves know they have to perform and start getting results. Lee Bradbury says they will be safe if they maintain the levels shown lately against the division’s big hitters but he knows it’s points and not performances that really matters now.

AFC Fylde can add weight to their challenge if they manage to polish off Boreham Wood. This is of course the venue their play-off dreams died at last season - can they prove they have progressed?

Braintree Town say they won’t stop fighting but anything expect victory against Harrogate would see them start planning for the National League South.

Chesterfield will be on their way to safety if they can win at home to Eastleigh.

But the Spitifies have a play-off battle on their hands and thanks to Gateshead they now sit outside the top seven.

If Ben Clark’s men can beat Barnet at home, that is where they’ll stay.

A win for Dover this weekend would plunge the Bees into problems - Andy Hessenthaler’s team know a win at Hartlepool could hand them a welcome cushion.

Maidenhead are six points above the drop zone and if they beat out-of-form Sutton they will have one foot in next season’s National League line-up.

Aldershot fans are concerned and their situation will worsen if they get it wrong up at Barrow and other results go against Gary Waddock and his team.

FC Halifax and Ebbsfleet are safely tucked away in mid-table, they meet in Yorkshire.

Dagenham and Bromley aren’t threatening the top seven or worried by the bottom four so it should be an open game in East London.
