Your Weekend Starts Here! So What’s In Store On Saturday?

By Sam Elliott

There truly is only one place to start as we dissect Saturday’s National League action.

The game of the weekend and perhaps the season is at Brisbane Road where leaders Leyton Orient take on title challengers Salford City.

You get the feeling the outcome could have a big impact on what’s ahead as they face off in East London.

It’s a massive match and Salford will feel their win over Wrexham last time out, ending a four-game losing run, could be a turning points.

But leaders Orient have led for a long while now and Justin Edinburgh says his team are ready for the challenge.

Wrexham would love a draw in the East End but need to take care of business themselves. Dover at the Racecourse six weeks ago would have been a home banker but under Andy Hessenthaler things have totally changed for the Whites.

But the league’s form team at the moment is Ebbsfleet. Garry Hill’s side have won five from six and now find themselves a win away from the play-off places ahead of their visit to managerless Chesterfield.

Dagenham and Boreham Wood meet once against and two sides enjoying their recent positive results go head-to-head at Hayes Lane.

Bromley want to secure another win but AFC Fylde haven’t lost too many since October.

Barrow’s improvement will be put to the test at Havant while Braintree hope the fact that they are better on the road can help at FC Halifax Town.

Hartlepool also aren’t great at home but boss Richard Money thinks victory against Gateshead last time out can change all that.

They face a visit from a Maidstone United side desperate for points down the bottom.

The Heed have a great scoring record against Maidenhead United in the past three meetings. Will Steve Watson’s side hit the net freely again on Saturday?

Eastleigh’s derby delight over Havant will need to carry them through at Solihull Moors, who don’t lose often at home.

Harrogate Town haven’t won since thrashing Aldershot nearly a month ago and Simon Weaver hopes that poor run can be ended as they travel to face Sutton, whose great recent surge ended dramatically at Bromley on New Year’s Day.
