Your Weekend Starts Here! So What's In Store On Saturday?

By Sam Elliott

All eyes return to the National League title race on Saturday - just after we’ve caught our breath from Boxing Day.

Following three straight defeats, Salford City simply need to get back on track.

The pre-season title favourites have lost three on the spin and were taken apart by Wrexham on Wednesday.

Now they head to much-improved Barrow for the lunchtime BT Sport game looking for a reaction.

Wrexham gave everyone food for thought with that famous 5-1 win.

They’re at home again but Solihull Moors are sure to put up a stern test - they come into the game on the back of a 4-0 win at Chesterfield.

Leyton Orient, the leaders of course, also have a big challenge on their hands. After two defeats from three, revived Dover Athletic welcome Justin Edinburgh’s team to the Kent coast.

The league’s most in-form team are Dagenham - just ask Leyton Orient.

Can Peter Taylor’s team continue their incredible climb at home to Barnet? John Still may not be in the away dug out after all but the legend Is expected at Victoria Road on an emotional afternoon.

Chesterfield being life without Martin Allen with a home game against a Hartlepool United side who need another win and quickly.

Both play-off contenders AFC Fylde and Harrogate meet as they look to stamp their mark on the top seven.

Sutton United are closing the gap and they will think a win at home to Aldershot could be enough to take them back in the promotion places.

Ebbsfleet know they have a lot of work ahead of them but they have lost just once in ten weeks. A visit from Eastleigh presents a chance to apply more pressure.

Maidstone United must start getting results. Harry Wheeler takes his team to Boreham Wood while Havant - also in need of points down the bottom - are at home to Bromley.

Maidenhead can climb out of the bottom four and really cast Braintree adrift if they can win at York Road.

FC Halifax were boosted by a shock with at Harrogate on Boxing Day and they will need a performance of equal courage at Steve Watson’s Gateshead if they want back-to-back victories.
