Your Saturday Preview: The National League South?

By Sam Elliott

It didn’t take long for us to get our first mega match in the Vanarama National League South.

Results in first two matches of the season has left us with only three 100 per cent sides.

Two of them meet this weekend as Dartford and Hemel Hempstead come together at Princes Park.

Darts have beaten Bath City and Chelmsford so far, with the Tudors taking maximum points against Chippenham and Hampton.

Revenge may be on the mind at Billericay, who saw their FA Trophy dream die at home to Wealdstone last March.

The Blues hope to put the record straight against the Stones now they are in the same league after the 5-2 hammering. Both sides have four points on the board.

So have Concord Rangers, and they make the trip to Dulwich in what should be an entertaining game.

Woking are the only other club with six points from six and manager Alan Dowson could do with less drama.

After two late, late winners they face Oxford City at the Laithwaite’s.

Truro City are without a manager after Lee Hodges resigned on Tuesday night. Ben Herring stands in for the trip to Eastbourne Borough and he said: “Now is not the time to be negative. We have to look ahead and we’re ready for the test.”

Torquay United will be happy with their draw at Chelmsford and 1-0 with over Bath City. The Gulls welcome East Thurrock, a side without a win so far.

Neither Hampton or Bath City have a win to their name - that may change at the Beveree.

Weston-super-Mare welcome St Albans City, while Slough Town return to the west country when they travel to Marc Richards’ Gloucester City.

Chelmsford City have yet to score and Rod Stringer knows that needs to change when they travel to Hungerford, whose manager Ian Herring is impressed with his side’s displays so far.
