It’s been a challenging season for the Daggers who have struggled on and off the pitch.
But there has been a double dose of good news - last week there came confirmation that investment talks are progressing well.
Then this weekend a 0-0 draw with title tip Salford City demonstrated why Taylor has such confidence in his young team.
They may still be looking for their first win but the former Gillingham and Leicester City boss knows it won’t be long in coming.
Next up on Tuesday it’s the battle of the winless sides as Dagenham welcome Braintree in an early season six pointer.
Taylor said: “I have to say once we started believing in ourselves we showed what we are capable of.
“It was a really big test for us and to get our first clean sheet against such a strong side was excellent.
“I’m pleased for the players. It’s been a difficult start but we are improving.
“We showed the supporters why we all should have confidence. It’s not always easy playing against ten men but we have a very good account of ourselves.
“We now have a big game on Tuesday and I think we’re getting closer and closer to that first three points.”
