York Leave It Late To Extend Run In Live TNT Sports Game

By Sam Elliott

The action came late in the live game as York City struck in time added to to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches.

Boreham Wood thought they had done enough to earn all three points after Chris Bush’s long-ranger deceived George Sykes-Kenworthy and squirmed over the line.

But Neal Ardley’s side are made of strong stuff and from a late corner, Adam Crookes rescued a point as he bundled the ball past Nathan Ashmore.

The game came to life in the closing stages and City manager Ardley said he felt defeat would have been “really harsh” on the Minstermen.

Meanwhile Wood boss Luke Garrard said: “We didn’t work their goalkeeper enough. The issue this season has been clinicality and we’ve let in a goal we shouldn’t late on.”
