A home victory saw Yates pick up his first win as Moors joint-manager, writes Tom Feaheny.
"It feels great, the lads were tremendous, it was a 90 minute performance, we could have been four nil up by half-time, we defended when we had to, we just played like a team," Yates told the club's website.
"It was a terrific performance at the back and them the front three worked their socks off, the tempo and the way we closed down was impressive."
Moors stay in 24th but closed the gap on getting out the bottom four to five points, Yates knows there is still plenty to be done.
"We are still bottom, this is a big building block, we have set a marker, the effort the desire, we showed quality as well, we have plenty of games to go, we have a lot to do, we are all up for up, we need to keep improving and we will do everything we can to achieve that."
