Yates: Moors Making Improvements But Need More Points

By David Richardson

Mark Yates is happy with the progress Solihull Moors at making but knows they must start picking up maximum point hauls, starting this weekend.

Moors sit bottom of the Vanarama National League and take on relegation rivals Leyton Orient at home on Saturday.

Yates has seen his side draw twice in the last three games against Maidstone United and Gateshead which has lifted confidence.

But their situation at the bottom remains and Saturday's fixture is vital if they are to stay in the National League for another season.

“There's green shoots for us to see and positives for us to build on,” he said. “We're not suddenly going to become Barcelona.

“We have got to start somewhere. We've given ourselves again a little base to build on but we cannot keep saying that otherwise we will be in a position where we can't get ourselves out of it. We have to keep working hard.

“Every game we play is a six pointer and it's the next game that's the most important game this season so far.”
