Moors extended their unbeaten run to five games with the goalless draw with promotion-chasing Aldershot on Good Friday.
Their game at Tranmere on Monday was beaten by the weather but Moors remain in the bottom four only on goal difference as Barrow were also out of action.
Boss Yates admits a clinical striker would have fired Solihull to safety by now but he has no complaints as his team continue to show great character.
“It was a really good point against a team trying to go up automatically,” Yates said after the Shots point.
“We showed tremendous guts when we weren’t on top. This is no criticism of my lads but if we had someone who is a natural finisher I think we’d be safe by now.
“My lads give me everything. If there was a table for guts, determination, work-rate and effort, we’d be top.
“We’ve got six games to get ourselves out of the trouble we’re in. If we get some help from other clubs, great, but we’ve got to take care of ourselves.”
