Wright's Delight At FA Cup Progression

By Tom Feaheny

Nuneaton Town boss Tommy Wright praised his side after their 3-1 win against King's Lynn Town.

Nuneaton Town made the third round of the Emirates FA Cup thanks to a hat-trick from Ashley Chambers, writes Tom Feaheny.

Speaking to the club's website after the victory, Wright said.

“We got what we deserved, it was important that we progressed in this competition and it was important that we got back into winning ways.

“There were pleasing performances all over the pitch. In the first half it was a case of two teams who didn’t really give it a go, but then we threw the dice after the break and it worked in our favour."

After Chambers got his first senior hat-trick, Wright praised his player.

“I was delighted to see Ash get a hat-trick; it’s been frustrating for him but he took his goals really well."

Along with the win there was also a bonus of Greg Mills getting game time after recovering from injury.

“It was good to see him back in action. We’ve missed him so far this season. He looked a little rusty but to have him available again is a big boost for us.”
