Wright's Delight At Darlo's Late Joy Against Play-Off Hopefuls

Darlington boss Tommy Wright says their late win against Kidderminster Harriers showed what his side is all about.

A late Stephen Thompson effort with moments to go meant it was Darlo who gained all three points against a side fighting for promotion.

"I thought we deserved to win this game, at 1-1 I thought it wasn't a fair reflection, so I'm delighted," Wright told the club's website.

"That late goals lifts the place again, the fans were brilliant once again and got behind us throughout.

"We have players like Stephen Thompson, people like that who when they get the chance you know he will take it."

While some fans afterwards spoke of trying to force their way into the play-off places, Wright says for now the aim is simple.

"The reality is we are still only five points clear off the relegation places, we want to stay up and that is the only aim right now, the end goal is the play-offs but that'll probably be next season."
