Wright Praises Nuneaton Hat-Trick Hero

Nuneaton Town gained a 3-0 home win over Southport thanks to a hat-trick from Ashley Chambers

Nuneaton Town climbed to 17th in the Vanarama National League North table after this victory, writes Tom Feaheny.

Speaking to the club's website after the three points had been secured boss Tommy Wright said.

“The most important thing was to get the three points, by hook or by crook. The challenge was there for the lads to build on last week’s win and I am delighted with the way in which they went about their business.

“It was a sloppy start from us and after we missed the penalty I thought it was going to be one of those days, but after the first goal went in we grew in confidence."

Wright was also quick to praise Chambers who made it back to back hat-tricks.

“I always fancy us to score goals. Ash is a Football League striker , he’s an out-and-out number nine and I am honoured that he chose to come here during the summer.

“He is a quality player, but there were good performances all over the pitch.

They next take on Nantwich Town in the FA Cup and Wright is pleased with the momentum they have going into the game.

“The confidence is high now with two consecutive wins under our belt. I would back these boys against anyone at this level."
