The Red Dragons’ start in the National League is their best since they dropped out of the Football League a decade ago.
But the new manager is a realist, and says improvement is needed if they are to stay the course.
Shaun Pearson inspired their 1-0 win at Braintree Town at the weekend. Watch match highlights here.
Their points haul of 21 is better than they have ever had by the ten game stage but the manager isn’t fooled.
“It was a really good three points for us, every time you go away from home and win in this division you know you have had to put a shift in,” he said.
“We have managed to take two points a game on average, certainly before a ball was kicked you would have taken that.
“But I feel we need to get better. We’re doing well, it’s been a brilliant start, but we have improvement to make and I need to stress that.
“I want us to be up there as I’m sure the players and the fans do but there’s another level we have to reach. By getting better we give ourselves a chance."
Next for Wrexham is a home game with away day specialists Ebbsfleet United.
