The club received a big blow on Friday when boss Dean Keates departed for League One side Walsall.
The Dragons picked up a point at Woking on Saturday to keep themselves fifth in the National League table.
Any worries over the motivations of the playing squad have been dismissed by Davies who reckons the Woking performance perfectly showed they are there to finish the job and win promotion.
The interim boss, in charge alongside Carl Darlington, told the club’s website: “We prepared the team properly and I think you saw that in terms of the performance you got out there from them.
“It's what the players and this group are about. For us, it was about preparing the right way which we do every time.
“Dean was the leader of the team and brought the players in but they’re 100 per cent focused on the job that was set out at the start of the season - to get promotion.
“Whether that’s going up through the play-offs or automatically, that’s the job in hand. The players have reacted the way we thought they would because they’re good characters and good professionals.”
