Wrexham Aren't Blunt At Daggers This Time As They Go Four Clear At Top

By Sam Elliott

Wrexham secured a four-point cushion at the top of the National League after banishing some bad memories.

It was a simple night for the Dragons at a ground where their hopes died in the past two seasons.

After seeing the title slip out of the grasp back in May, they became big favourites tonight.

Two first half Ollie Palmer goals, one from Jordan Tunnicliffe and another Jacob Mendy eased them to victory in East London.

Ryan Colclough scored for a third game running as Chesterfield continued their recovery at Southend United.

Scunthorpe United knew they couldn’t afford to drop points at home to Altrincham.

Gateshead and FC Halifax drew 0-0 as Yeovil Town ended Eastleigh’s away day burst thanks to Matthew Worthington’s winner.

All bets are surely off on Ebbsfleet United winning the National League South title.

They moved an incredible 17 points clear after walloping Worthing 7-2 - and they did it with seven different scorers.

Second place Dartford could only draw at Hungerford as Alex Wall made it 1-1.

Braintree Town were denied another win in the night’s big game at Oxford City, the fourth-placed team levelled very late through reliable Zac McEachran.

Hampton don’t win away often but they left Taunton with a 3-1 victory, Luis Fernandes grabbed two.

Chippenham ended their winless win at Weymouth, as Jack Wood’s double was big news for Tonbridge at Eastbourne Borough.

Cody Cooke got the winner for Bath City at home to Hemel Hempstead while Ogo Obi’s double added to Concord Rangers’ woes.

Late drama was the order of the day for the teams at the top of the National League North.

AFC Fylde are top after a draw with Buxton - but will feel it should have been all three after a late penalty left them frustrated in the 2-2 draw.

It was worse for this morning’s leaders King’s Lynn Town as Farsley Celtic pinched a 94th minute winner at the Walks through Theo Williams.

Lurking Chester are now just three points behind.

A 2-0 win over Kidderminster Harriers was earned by Adam Thomas and Charlie Caton.

Connot Hall scored again as Chorley won 2-0 against Hereford, as Brackley’s title hopes were hit by back-in-form Leamington - Liam Cross score the winner at St James Park.

Glen Taylor was once again the Spennymoor hero - an 88th minute goal at Boston United took home all the points.

Alfreton are on a roll, they were too good for Banbury United as AFC Telford gave their fans something to cheer with a 4-0 win over Bradford PA.

Elsewhere it was a good night for Southport and Gloucester City.
