The 20-year-old is on loan from Championship club Plymouth Argyle and Wayne Rooney is reportedly ready to let him spend the rest of the season away from Home Park.
His loan is due to expire on January 2 but fans fear his form could see clubs at a higher level make a move.
Jenkins-Davies scored his fourth goal in the past few weeks as the Gulls went top of the National League South on Saturday with victory at home to Farnborough.
Manager of the Month Wotton believes the midfielder is happy at Plainmoor and thinks a title battle could really benefit his career.
“We are in constant conversations with Argyle regarding him,” he said. “He worked really hard and deserved his goal.
“He’s been fantastic and hopefully we can get some good news and extend his loan.”
Wotton did something he doesn’t often do after the game on Saturday - shower his side with compliments.
He went on: “It’s rare that I give them lots of praise but they were fantastic.
“I thought they were great against a really good side. The start ultimately won us the game, but I’ve been involved in enough games now to know it’ not game over.
“I don’t care that we’re top of the league, and that is genuine because we’re not even halfway through yet,”
