.....Vanarama National League rivals Forest Green Rovers in a loan deal until the end of the season.
Sam-Yorke began his career at Woking, making just shy of fifty appearances before moving on to Basingstoke Town in the summer of 2010.
He netted 41 times for the National League side outfit with a potent goalscoring ratio of around a goal every two games.
His goals catapulted Basingstoke into the play-offs before losing to eventual winners Dartford.
His performances though had caught the eye of then-National League side Cambridge United, where he signed a two-year contract and he played a major part in the sides promotion back to the Football League and he started in the play-off victory over Gateshead in front of a crowd of over 19,000.
He went onto make his debut in the Football League as a substitute in a 1-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle. However, after his playing time became limited he signed on loan for Lincoln City until January, when he signed a permanent deal until the end of the season.
At the end of the 2014/15 season he moved on from Lincoln and elected to sign for Forest Green on a one-year deal.
After the player had put pen-to-paper, Wood boss Luke Garrard said: “I’m excited to be working with Delano until the seasons end as he will give us a real presence up top. We have for some time had one of the best defensive records and competitive midfields in the National League. However, goals have been a problem, so this signing will give me great options up top with Delano, Jordan Chedozie, Anthony Jeffrey and Jamie Lucas all very capable strikers at this level. I believe our recent signings will get us on the front foot and will turn defeats into draws and draws into wins and I’m looking forward to the second half of the season.”
Chairman Danny Hunter said: “I would like to thank our good friends at Forest Green for their help in making this deal happen. Delano understands that he will be very important to us in the coming months and I’m very happy with our business so far in this transfer window. We now have a strong and well balanced squad with options in every position and that can only help the dressing room as we enter the business end of the season.”
