Wood Boss Won't Worry As Striker's Dry Spell Goes On

When a team loses its two star strikers in one transfer window, it will always take time to find a new rhythm in front of goal.

That’s why Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard isn’t getting too bogged down in the early season stats.

The National League Promotion Finalists haven’t won since the opening day of the season - a 1-0 victory over Dagenham.

They have only scored one goal since then and many point at the loss of Morgan Ferrier and Bruno Andrade for their lack of punch in front of goal.

Wood lost 1-0 at Leyton Orient on Saturday with neither side creating too many chances. Watch highlights here.

Garrard isn’t too concerned and said: “It was a really tight game which could have gone either way.

“There weren’t too many chances and can I say the players weren’t committed? Absolutely not.

“We are applying ourselves well - it’s not like we’re missing guilt-edged chances. We’re working hard and we think the goals will come.”
