Wood Are Back On Track As Daggers Opener Looms

Luke Garrard said it was important Boreham Wood buried their 3-0 defeat to Slough Town on Tuesday.

The beaten National League Promotion Finalists held AFC Wimbledon to a 0-0 draw on Saturday.

Wood were much better than they were against the National League South Rebels.

Garrard’s team begin the season against Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday as the season gets under way.

“We need that,” the manager told the club’s video service.

“On Tuesday night against Slough we let ourselves down a bit.

“Against Wimbledon we looked strong and very organised defensively. We finished the game strong and we were a threat to them.

“Of course the real work start of the 4th of August but where we’re at the moment I am happy.

“We’ve now got Crystal Palace on Tuesday night and hopefully they will bring a good squad down for the game.

“I have got to be sensible with utilising our team but we’re looking forward to it.”
