Woking Sell Striker Effiong To Scottish League Ross County

By Steve Whitney

Woking have announced that Inih Effiong has left the club to join Scottish Premiership side Ross County for an undisclosed fee.

Effiong, 27, signed for Woking in May 2017, and it took the striker only 18 minutes into their first league match to score his opening goal in the 2-1 victory against Gateshead.

He went on to score a total of 10 goals for Woking in thirty-five appearances.

Before joining the Cards, Effiong played for Biggleswade Town in the Southern Premier where he scored 23 goals in the first half of the 2016/17 season, earning him a move to Barrow AFC in the National League last January.

He started his career at St Albans City in 2008, and also had spells at Boreham Wood and Chesham United.

Woking manager Anthony Limbrick told his club`s official website: "Inih's worked hard for us since joining in the summer, and when the offer from Ross County came in Inih made it clear to us that he wanted to make the move into the Scottish Premiership. It's a good opportunity for Inih to play against the likes of Celtic and Rangers, and we wouldn't stand in the way of him doing so".
