Young, 23, is a full-back who was at Tottenham Hotspur as a schoolboy before joining Southampton at the age of 16.
After spending four years at the Saints he moved to Sheffield Wednesday, joining Carlisle United on loan for the second half of the season.
He made his Football League debut in January 2015 and went on to play twenty games for them.
The defender had a short spell at Dover Athletic at the start of the 2015/16 season before joining Kidderminster Harriers in October that year.
He went on to make ten appearances for the Harriers, including getting the assist in their 1-0 victory against Woking.
He started last season playing for Bostik League Premier side Billericay Town, moving to National League South outfit Chelmsford City in September for the remainder of the season.
Young said on his preferred position and his strengths: “I’m best as right-back, I’m very energetic, very vocal on the pitch. Love getting forward, love defending, crossing is a big part of my game.”
Woking manager Anthony Limbrick said: “We had a few triallists in during pre-season and Matt is the only one we have offered a contract to. Matt is a reliable player who can play both full-back positions, and is a great character to have around the team and is one who is looking to progress & develop”.
