Few know how to guide teams to the top of the division like the Welling United manager.
King has finished in every position in the league’s top five with the likes of Lewes, Whitehawk and Farnborough.
The Wings start the new season at home to promoted Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday.
Although he says it’s not play-offs at all costs, the manager believes he has a team capable of doing something in the months ahead.
“I know a lot about the league and have had real success in it,” the manager said.
“I would like to think that will help a bit but it’s about the here and now - we have got to perform.
“We haven’t set massive targets but I believe in the squad we have put together. We have some good, good players and hopefully they will come together and we can have a good year.
“It’s a difficult start. Dulwich will still be buzzing from winning promotion. They will bring a big number of fans and it will be a good atmosphere.
“Gavin (Rose) is a good manager who motivates his team well. It’s an exciting first game, that’s for sure.”
