Wings Boosted By Maidstone Defender Magnus Loan Deal

Welling United have signed experienced defender Magnus Okuonghae on loan from National League side Maidstone United until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old Nigerian was on the books of Dagenham & Redbridge before joining the Stones a year ago.

In a footballing career spanning more than fifteen years, Okuonghae is best-known for his time with Colchester United.

He spent six years with The U’s, making more than 200 appearances and becoming club captain for the 2014/15 campaign.

Prior to joining the Essex club, he was at Rushden & Diamonds, Aldershot Town and Crawley Town, before his first stint with the Daggers.

After his Colchester career came to an end, he had spells at Luton Town and Hartlepool United – before returning to Victoria Road last November.

Okunghae, who has made twenty appearances for Maidstone this season, goes into tomorrow's squad for the trip to East Thurrock United.
