...the Vanarama National League club on a permanent deal until the end of the season from Sky Bet League Two side Stevenage.
Both Williams and Stevenage had both agreed to mutually terminate his contract, allowing him to make a full time move to The New Lawn.
The 28-year-old returns to Forest Green having enjoyed a seven-game loan spell during December, where he netted once in a 3-0 home win over Kidderminster Harriers and featured in the FA Cup Second Round trip to Oxford United.
Signed by Stevenage in the summer from Aldershot Town, Williams has a fantastic goalscoring record in the fifth tier.
In his two seasons with the Shots he registered 39 goals in all competitions – a tally that earned him a move back into the Football League.
Having started his career in non-League circles in Hampshire with the likes of Eastleigh, Winchester City and AFC Totton, Williams secured a dream move to Championship club Reading.
He didn’t make a first-team appearance for the Royals, but did gain key experience in the League thanks to loan spells at Rotherham United, Northampton Town and had a season long stint with Woking too.
The deal he has signed will keep him at the club until the end of the current campaign.
