Wilkin Proud And Wants Brackley Town End Season On A High

Brackley Town boss Kevin Wilkin believes it was just a game too much for his side as they lost in the Vanarama National League North promotion final.

A 3-0 defeat to Harrogate Town, means Brackley will stay in the league next season, writes Tom Feaheny.

“Obviously I’m gutted with the defeat, we’ve played a good side and just couldn’t do it on the day," Wilkin said.

“Conceding the penalty when we did, that changes the match they score and they they are in control."

Wilkin said it was a simple case of a game too many.

“We have done so well this season and physically we looked okay but mentally we looked tired on the day.

“The chance was there for us at 2-0 we didn’t take it and then they are clinical and finish the game."

Wilkin says though they know the season isn't finished yet.

“I’m proud of what we have achieved now we want to end the season on a high next week and win at Wembley."
