Who'll Shine Bright Under The Tuesday Night Lights?

By Sam Elliott

Incredibly, we’re heading for Matchday 10 already and there’s some big scores to settle this evening.

Tuesday’s National League programme sees all 24 teams go at it and with rivalries resumed, it’s going to be another action packed day at the office as the games played hits double figures.

Chesterfield’s mission is quite simple - hold on to first place for as long as humanly possible.

The task tonight is FC Halifax Town, who have blown hot and cold lately. After a first clean sheet of the campaign Paul Cook is demanding more as he wants things firing at both ends of the pitch for the leaders.

Solihull Moors fans only wish their home form was as good as their away record but they can put that right by beating struggling AFC Fylde tonight.

Oldham Athletic sacked their manager on Sunday and York’s new one has just won his first game and Neal Ardley is asking for more of the same when they go to Boundary Park later on.

Eastleigh won’t be without a manager for long but there’s been progress since Lee Bradbury departed. The Spitfires want to make it three wins from five when Oxford City - unbeaten since matchday three - arrive, looing to make it seven games without defeat.

Barnet slipped to third on Saturday and Aldershot Town arrive to put the Bees untouchable home record to the test .

Bromley are bang in form but Dagenham are improving every week according to boss Ben Strevens. Woking, just behind in fifth, can make it six games without defeat if they get the better of Ebbsfleet United.

Southend United will need a heroic performance against Maidenhead United with player supply issues hampering Kevin Maher.

Elsewhere, Rochdale go to Boreham Wood and Kidderminster Harriers are looking for their second win as they travel to Gateshead, who need to start turning draws into wins.

John Askey refuses to let the wheels come off at Hartlepool United after a few iffy results and they’ll keep their play-off place if they leave Altrincham with all three points tonight.

Dorking Wanderers have three clean sheets in a row but problem is they’ve only scored once themselves in around 300 minutes of football. Will that change when Wealdstone pay them a visit?
