Who Will Make The Big Headlines In The FA Cup This Weekend?

By Sam Elliott

The remaining 22 National League clubs get down to work in the FA Cup this weekend as the first round wait is finally over.

There’s stories to be found and headlines to be written - but which of our heroes will grab the country’s attention over the next few days?

It all starts for our sides at 12.30pm on Saturday with a live game - and there’s not likely to be much in the way of bad blood between two clubs who have quickly become friends.

Bradford City fans have clubbed together to raise money for National League South side Tonbridge Angels to help cover the lack of gate money.

More than £5,000 has been taken in - five times the amount hoped for - in a heartwarming gesture from the League Two Bantams’ supporters.

Also on Saturday, Bromley and Yeovil Town meet, weeks on from clashing in the National League.

It is Stockport County who now go to Rochdale, with Darlington at struggling League One outfit Swindon.

Matt Jarvis can’t wait for Woking's game away to his former club Gillingham, with Concord Rangers at Stevenage and AFC Fylde making the very long trip to Exeter City.

Gary Neville takes on Jeff Stelling as Salford City welcome Hartlepool United and on Saturday Dagenham & Redbridge meet Grimsby Town.

Kevin Wilkin's Brackley Town take on Bishop’s Stortford, Boreham Wood face Southend - the side sitting bottom of the EFL - and King’s Lynn fancy their upset chances at Port Vale.

The action comes thick and fast on Sunday.

Chorley face the 2013 winners Wigan and Havant & Waterlooville will need to avoid a shock themselves - they welcome Cray Valley PM, who came from 2-0 down to beat Maidenhead in the last round.

Hampton & Richmond Borough want revenge when Oldham visit, two years on from their last meeting when they endured late heartache.

Can Solihull Moors enjoy another good run? Scunthorpe United stand in their way.

Barnet love an FA Cup headline - but Burton Albion won’t be push-overs, with MK Dons meanwhile at Eastleigh.

Leaders Torquay United look to continue their flying start and have a visit from League Two Crawley Town.

Blackpool - the 1953 winners - face a coast-to-coast trip to Eastbourne Borough in a game live on BT Sport 1.

On Monday, another live match on the platform see Oxford City welcome League One Northampton Town. Look out for a special preview ahead of the game.
