Who Is Tipped To Be This Season's Surprise Package?

Boreham Wood could be the surprise package of the new National League season.

That is according to Dean Brennan, who is the Hemel Hempstead Town manager, after watching them close up on Monday night.

Hemel went down 4-2 and the Tudors boss believes you could be hearing more about Luke Garrard's side next season.

That's because they have improved their squad in the opinion to Brennan, who was impressed by what local side Wood had to offer.

"They were really good, very strong in a lot of areas and they have signed well," the Hemel boss stated.

"I think they'll be surprising a number of people next season and if they get the players they are hoping to then I think they'll have a very good season."

It looks like Boreham Wood have an eye for the spectacular as well.

"They scored some really good goals against us and although we could have stopped one or even two of their four, they have a talented squad.

"They have lost a few good players like Ferrier and Kenny Davis but they have replaced them and they look strong."

Brennan is content with his own side, saying: "Pre season has been decent and we are in a better position that we were this time last year, I'm certain of that."
