Who Is In Charge Of The Race For The Golden Boot?

By Sam Elliott

We may not have new National League leaders quite yet, but we do have a new name at the top of the scoring charts!

Long term leader Danny Rowe was last night dethroned for the first time in many months.

Andy Cook has stolen a march and on Tuesday night notched his 27th goal of the season as Tranmere Rovers secured victory at Dover Athletic.

Cook is in incredible form having trailed Rowe by seven goals at the start of March. His recent four-goal haul against Gateshead put him right back in it.

Now the pressure is back on Rowe to respond. AFC Fylde’s remaining fixtures are Solihull Moors and Wrexham, while
Tranmere have FC Halifax, Hartlepool and Solihull yet to come.
