Dover Athletic certainly embraced the old cliché “new year, new me”.
Since the turn of the year, the Whites unbeaten month saw them climb out of the bottom four and boost their survival hopes.
Kevin Lokko has been at the heart of the Whites’ resurgence under Andy Hessenthaler and has more than had his say on proceedings.
The 23-year-old helped his side to four clean sheets on the way to crucial wins over Maidstone United and Wrexham along with a win and draw against Havant & Waterlooville.
Not content with keeping the opposition at bay, he also bagged a goal himself in Dover’s draw with Bromley.
Whatever happens in the Vanarama National League relegation battle, Kevin Lokko is certain to buck the trend of strikers taking all the glory.
