Whites Not Out Of Promotion Picture Insists Kinnear

Chris Kinnear has told his Dover Athletic players to forget about their Sutton United disappointment and get their promotion push back on track.

The Whites dropped to ninth in the Vanarama National League following their frustrating defeat on Saturday.

Despite falling out of the play-off positions, Dover are just a point off seventh and eight adrift of leaders Macclesfield Town.

A good run of results could put the Whites right back in the title picture and Kinnear knows things will continue to change throughout the remainder of the campaign.

The boss told Kent Online: ”There’s still a long way to go and a lot can happen between now and then (the end of the season).

“It's a close league and we've just got to be one of those that doesn't feel sorry for themselves and try to win games.”

On his side’s defeat to rivals Sutton, the boss added: “The conditions suited them because they're a big, heavy, strong side.

“Early on in the season when the pitches were lovely and firm we were running past sides, but it's hard to run past players on pitches like that."
