Whing Wants His Solihull Side To Leave Him Sweating!

Andy Whing has one wish for 2025 - that he’s wearing his beloved bobble hat when things really start to heat up.

The Moors manager donned the winter warmer after they defeated Aldershot Town on December 10.

He said following the game that he won’t be taking it off until the team loses - and after ten points in those four games, he knows he’s got to keep to his word.

Not that he was impressed with his side’s Boxing Day performance at Boston United.

Moors may have won 1-0 but he is demanding better when they welcome Tamworth in the division’s final game of the year on New Year’s Eve.

Whing wants his players to throw their hat into the promotion ring and say goodbye to 2024 in sixth place.

“The bobble hat stays for another week,” he said after the game.

“Touch wood we go all the way through to the end of the season and I’m standing there wearing it in 30c heat!

“We’ve let in too many goals this season and we’ve spoken about that. We’ve changed our shape and the way we’ve pressed a little bit.

“Fans will be wondering what I said at half time! Our standards are better than that.

“I’m not going to lose sleep over playing poorly but winning a game, but we know we can be better.”
