By Sam Elliott

There’s another important night in store at both ends of the National League North.

It’s all eyes on Stockport County again to see if Jim Gannon’s side do what has been asked of them - pile the pressure on leaders Chorley.

County’s great run has seen them catapult themselves into second place, but they are still seven points off the relentless table toppers.

If they can win at Leamington this evening the lead with be cut to four - and Gannon says it’s a “big night” for the title hopefuls.

The Brakes are draw specialists but haven’t won since November. Paul Holleran’s side, though, have only lost twice in seven games.

Marcus Bignot says it’s a crucial night for Guiseley as they and Hereford meet - two sides who are just above the drop zone.

The joint boss won’t hide away from the importance of the game with the winners’ survival chances take receiving a welcome boost.

As well a title battles and relegation fights, there’s also a meeting of two play-off hopefuls.

Altrincham and Blyth Spartansmust try again after their match failed an afternoon pitch inspection.
