What's In Store On Saturday In The National League North

By Tom Scott

The National League North returns this week after an FA Cup lay-off as we also look forward to Non-League Day.

A huge clash at the top of the table as second play third. Bradford (Park Avenue) are back in front of their own fans for the first time in a month and will want to put on a display.

But it won’t be easy against Kidderminster Harriers who are the league’s highest scorers and have a bang-in-form Ed Williams to rely on.

It might only be October but at the bottom of the table, FC United of Manchester have a huge chance to make sure they aren’t cut adrift.

But Darlington aren’t coming to roll over and manager Tommy Wright said he wanted his side to ‘kick-start our season’ with a win in the North-West.

Altrincham are desperate for a win at home and welcome Alfreton Town on Saturday – a side who haven’t won in the league since the beginning of September.

Sam Collins will walk out for the first time as permanent York City boss as he takes his Minstermen to Southport.

Spennymoor Town have surprised a lot of people this season – leading to manager Jason Ainsley receiving manager of the month for September.

They face an Ashton United side who look to be getting back on track following a blip after a terrific start to their campaign.

League leaders Chorley travel to AFC Telford, while Guiseley and Brackley Town do battle.

Leamington lost just once in the first month of the season but have just one win since the start of September and face an improving Curzon Ashton.

Marc Richards said Hereford had ‘work to do’ after his first game in charge of the Bulls. What lessons have they learnt before their trip to Stockport County?

Two of the league’s out-of-form sides meet in Lincolnshire when Boston United host Blyth Spartans.
