What's Happening In The National League South This Evening?

By Sam Elliott

We may well have new league leaders tonight in the National League South - thanks in no small part to Mother Nature.

Havant & Waterlooville were aiming to extend their lead at the top against East Thurrock but the rain could do Dartford a favour.

Tony Burman takes his team to Gloucester City, with Joe Parker the Tigers man in the goals lately. City have won four of their last six and under Marc Richards they are a side transformed.

Any kind of a Dartford win will take them top of the table at 9.45pm.

St Albans fans are still picking their jaws up off the floor. A 3-0 home hammering by bottom club Whitehawk after four straight wins wasn’t not what anyone expected.

The Saints can’t afford to play as badly when they meet another side on the brink later on, Jack Pearce’s Bognor Regis Town later on as they look to get their top three finish back on track.

There’s vital play-off points on offer too as three of the clubs chasing the top seven all play.

Hemel Hempstead go to Welling United who are now two points outside the promotion positions - the Wings really need to repair their unconvincing home form starting tonight.

Truro City occupy the final place and need to get back on track after their shock home defeat to East Thurrock United four days ago.

They have another visit from a side from Essex as Concord Rangers make the long journey after the original game was postponed because of the arrival of the Beast From The East back in March.

National League South fixtures:
Bognor Regis v St Albans
Gloucester City v Dartford
Havant & W P-P East Thurrock
Poole Town P-P Hampton & RB
