What's Going On In The National League On Tuesday Night

By Sam Elliott

A packed Tuesday night programme should offer plenty of clues to what’s ahead in the final two months of the season so let’s take a close look at this evening’s fixture card.

The title chasers are all in action, and Yeovil Town are next in line to test Barnet’s near-perfect home record.

But the Glovers are stronger on the road this season than they are at Huish Park and Mark Cooper wants his team to throw a spanner in the works at the Hive.

The chasing pack know they can’t afford to drop points with the leaders looking so strong.

York City also have a fantastic home record but Altrincham can beat any side on their day. Forest Green Rovers - nine points behind with a game in hand as well - have to pick things up on their travels and wouldn’t have selected a trip to FC Halifax Town

Southend United boss Kevin Maher believes there’s enough spirit in his side to burst into the top seven. His team are four points shy and welcome Woking hoping this game isn’t like the last two which both ended goalless.

The live DAZN offering comes from Eastleigh, who welcome Ebbsfleet United sensing the chance to put pressure on the play-off places.

Fleet manager Josh Wright demanded a reaction and refused to hide his disappointment after defeat to Tamworth on Saturday. He said: “Three goals in five minutes is nowhere near good enough. That's a lack of concentration, a mindset, a mentality.”

Boston United play Oldham Athletic with both sides needing a win for different reasons as promotion hunters Rochdale and Gateshead look to show what they can do.

Elsewhere, Braintree Town can push themselves further away from danger - and keep Maidenhead United in trouble.

Wealdstone are in great form and head to Tamworth looking to win four games back-to-back for the first time in the National League.

Aldershot Town are trying to do the same, even if one of their wins did come in the FA Trophy. They face Dagenham & Redbridge, who haven’t won in ten.

Matt Taylor says fans will see a different Solihull Moors tonight against Sutton United are a miserable return of one point from their last nine matches.

AFC Fylde are improving under David Longwell, but the Coasters need to keep picking up points. Hartlepool United head to the west coast from the east eight points off the play-offs.
