What’s Ahead This Evening Across The National League?

By Sam Elliott

There’s 13 games going on across the three divisions - so who will get lucky on Tuesday night?

You won’t find one bigger anywhere in football than at Edgeley Park.

Leaders Stockport County welcome second place Chesterfield and with a point between them, the size of this game doesn’t need selling.

The match is set to be a sell-out with around 2,000 Spireites fans making the journey.

"It is a big game, potentially the biggest game of the season so far,” County manager Dave Challinor said.

“It is an occasion which we will embrace and look forward to but ultimately it is our next chance to get three points and we will do everything we can to take that.”

Counterpart Danny Webb said his team are ready, adding: “I think they'll be aware of our record. They'll be wary of us and we'll be wary of them. It's a pressure but I believe it's a pressure that both clubs are looking forward to.”

It’s not the only meeting of two form sides tonight.

Bromley will be looking to pounce - Andy Woodman’s team go to a Southend United side inspired under Kevin Maher and with a huge crowd expected it’s sure to be a special occasion.

Elsewhere, Notts County can’t afford to drop points against Barnet.

Grimsby Town won at Meadow Lane on Saturday and if they beat King’s Lynn Town then they will close the gap on the top seven.

Wealdstone and Yeovil are striving for consistency and they meet hope to start a winning run later on.

Gateshead will return to the top of the National League North with a win later on.

But they have a tricky derby date with Blyth Spartans to negotiate first.

Chorley are looking for those above them to start slipping but know they will keep the pressure on by beating Spennymoor Town.

Kettering Town will surge into the play-off places if they win at Alfreton.

The Reds were hit for five on Saturday - and so were Southport. Can they start another run against AFC Telford United?

None of the top four in the National League South are in action.

But fourth place Ebbsfleet United will keep the pressure on if they defeat St Albans City.

There’s a big Essex derby as rivals Braintree Town and Chelmsford City collide.

Tonbridge Angels stunned everyone by winning at Dorking Wanderers on Saturday - can they get another big result at Eastbourne Borough?

Dulwich Hamlet could move back into the top seven but they have to win against Slough Town first.
