What’s Ahead On Tuesday Across The National League

By Sam Elliott

Don’t be fooled into thinking Tuesday’s smattering of matches means there’s no big games going on.

A lot of promotion contenders play - and two of them meet. Oh, and did we say they are massive rivals?

Chesterfield are back on track after victory over Yeovil Town in front of the BT Sport cameras on Saturday.

Now it’s a grudge match against rivals Notts County, who head to Derbyshire looking for their fourth win in five.

Chesterfield have a score to settle - County defeated them in heartbreaking fashion in last season play-off Eliminator, pictured.

Wrexham fans are wondering if there’s still time to play a part in the title race.

They will need Stockport County to start stuttering, of course - but if they defeat King’s Lynn and win for a fourth game running then they will climb to third, six points off top spot.

Weeks after relegation fears were growing, Maidenhead United are already looking safe.

Alan Devonshire’s team are now unbeaten in five and young striker Josh Kelly can’t stop scoring.

They go to a Dagenham & Redbridge side who will be aware they can’t afford many more errors if they are to make the play-offs.

In the National League North, two of the close-season title tips collide.

But it’s not panned out that way for AFC Fylde or York City, but both maintain promotion goals.

Boston United will be in the top seven come 10pm if they defeat Alfreton Town at the Impact Arena.

But if they don’t, Curzon Ashton could sneak in - they need to defeat an AFC Telford United side still fighting for their lives.

There’s just one National League South game and Braintree Town can put daylight between themselves and the relegation place if they defeat Slough Town.
