What’s Ahead Of Us This Evening In The North And South?

By Sam Elliott

Between the two divisions, eight teams have made a perfect start - but how many will stand at 100 per cent come 10pm?

We have a full National League North and South programme tonight as we wait to see who is going to make it an early season hat-trick.

Can you ever really have a huge game so early into a new season?

Dorking Wanderers and Boreham Wood fans will think so. It’s first vs second and something has to give with both promotion hopefuls flawless so far.

Farnborough are the other South team to have won both of their matches and they take on an Eastbourne side who are showing grit.

On Saturday Alfie Pavey scored the Sports’ winner in a backs-to-the-wall victory at Hornchurch with the visitors playing for an hour a man light.

Maidstone United will look to make amends for a home defeat to Truro City by beating Hampton & RB in front of the Stones fans. There’s also a tasty West Country game on the menu when Bath City host Torquay United.

Scunthorpe United lead the way in the National League North and they will see no reason why they can’t stay there with a win at Needham Market.

The Iron have lots of company at the top. Southport beat the newcomers on Saturday and now Jim Bentley’s players go to Spennymoor - who are making a fantastic gesture with their gate receipts tonight.

Kidderminster Harriers have started strongly, they are at home to Brackley who are back on track after a demanding first few games.

Curzon Ashton have won both their games and are eying up another at home to Oxford City as Buxton want to remain pitch perfect - they face winless Darlington.
