What's Ahead In The Vanarama National League This Evening

By Sam Elliott

The title chasers are all in action once again tonight, but the race for the play-offs is equally as intriguing.

Sutton United were stumped by Stockport County very late on Saturday and now their powers of recovery will be put to the test.

The table toppers - who last lost in early December - go to improving Bromley, who have earned 17 points from a possible 21 at Hayes Lane.

The chasers are naturally hoping Sutton start to stutter.

Torquay United fans want to know if their weekend win over King’s Lynn was a sign they are back in the race.

If the long-time leaders can see off Solihull Moors at Plainmoor then confidence will keep rising after Gary Johnson promised there would be more title twists to come.

Hartlepool United are in touch too, of course, and, after ending a run of three draws at the weekend, they want to keep up the heat.

Dave Challinor’s team look to make it ten games undefeated when they head to Dagenham & Redbridge.

The manager said after Saturday’s 1-0 win over Woking: “We have a good group of players who can win games in different ways.”

Stockport County are ten points shy of top spot but Simon Rusk won’t rule his team out with a late surge still possible.

Eastleigh, with a promotion goal themselves, travel to Edgeley Park.

Darren Sarll’s Yeovil Town have the chance to exact instant revenge on Notts County, pictured.

After meeting at Meadow Lane on Saturday, the teams go again at Huish Park with the Glovers victorious on seven of their last eight on home turf.

Aldershot Town and Chesterfield refuse to be ruled out of the promotion race.

Whoever comes out on top in Hampshire this evening will see their chances boosted, with both winning three of their last five - and knowing where the back of the net is.

Altrincham may have won just once in ten but victory over King’s Lynn Town will bring them back to within sight of the play-offs.

Meanwhile, Wealdstone will leapfrog Woking in the table if they are successful at Grosvenor Vale.
