What's Ahead In The National League & FA Trophy Tonight

By Sam Elliott

There’s a huge night in store across all three divisions with some FA Trophy ties thrown in for good measure.

National League leaders Barrow know the reward on offer for winning their re-arranged game at Solihull Moors.

Ian Evatt’s side will go seven points clear with a game in hand should they earn three points in the Midlands - but they come up against a team needing to get back on track after just one win in seven.

They are the only title chaser in action but Woking will be back in the play-off places if they defeat Ebbsfleet United, a point enough if Solihull don’t win against Barrow.

FC Halifax Town are back in form and a win at home to Dover Athletic will strengthen their claim for a top seven spot.

But Andy Hessenthaler’s good traveller will move level on points with Notts County - the current holders of the final play-off place - with victory in Yorkshire, what would be their ninth away from home.

Eastleigh and Aldershot are still a little too close to the bottom four for their fans’ comfort. They meet in an all-Hampshire battle at the Silverlake.

In the National League North, Chester can apply a little more pressure if they win in the North East - but Gateshead sense victory may be enough to see them rise in the promotion positions.

Blyth Spartans’ aim is survival and their chances will be boosted by victory at AFC Telford, while Gloucester need to get back on track - they head to Alfreton.

A win for Altrincham at Kettering will see them up to sixth.

Slough Town will return to second spot if they win at Hampton & Richmond, not an easy task with the Beavers suffering only one defeat in eight.

Hemel Hempstead need to put a good run together and Sammy Moore wants that to start when they host in-form Weymouth.

But there's won't be any play between Maidstone United and Tonbridgewith the Longmead pitch failing an afternoon inspection.

After no luck in recent weeks, four clubs are looking to get the job done in the FA Trophy.

Farsley return to Barnet, who will allow their fans free entry after last week’s game was postponed minutes before kick-off.

Concord Rangers hope the heavens don’t open again as they try again at Bath City.
