What Happened On Tuesday Night In The National League Cup

Last night saw plenty of National League Cup entertainment - and there’s more matches on the way this evening.

Aldershot Town gave poorly manager Tommy Widdrington a lift. He’s in hospital undergoing tests but his side won their battle of Hampshire against a young Southampton side - Tyler Frost got the winner.

Elsewhere in Group A, Woking went down at home to Fulham 3-2 while Wealdstone defeated Derby. Henry Sandat scored a scorcher for the Stones.

In Group B. it is Manchester United’s talented teenagers leading the way. Rochdale attracted a crowd of over 3,500 to watch the Red Devils edge it.

A sensational second half performance from Altrincham saw Stoke City blown away 4-1 to leave Phil Parkinson very pleased with his team's night's work.

Adam Senior levelled late on as FC Halifax earned a point in Group C but Leeds United won on penalties.

Francis Maguire settling a fantastic game as Boston United, pictured, defeated a talented Newcastle United side 3-2.

In Group D Sutton United manager Steve Morison says he was very impressed by his side as they opening their National League Cup account with a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

There was no cup joy this time for Dagenham who lost at home to Nottingham Forest while Braintree go top as Inih Effiong’s goal floored West Brom.

There are two Wednesday night games to look forward to.

In Group A Maidenhead United play Brighton & HA while in Ground C Gateshead host Sunderland.
