What Happened On Tuesday Across The National League

The thaw set in to produce another brilliant night of entertainment as the title countdown is close to getting underway.

Chesterfield ominously move 13 points clear at the top of the National League as they secured their 17th home win in a row in all competitions as they edged past Woking.

Will Grigg scored once again as the Spireites scamper clear. Their championship cause was helped by Bromley dropping two more points, this time at Aldershot. Lorent Tolaj’s 35 minute strike put the Shots in front but Callum Reynolds made it 1-1.

Barnet slip further off the pace, James Norwood’s double made it a great night for Oldham Athletic as they completed the double over the Bees.

York City pull further away from trouble and leave Oxford City knowing they’ve got it all to do to stay up.Dipo Akinyemi was on target for Neal Ardley’s side.

Phil Brown made it two wins from two as they left Hartlepool with a 1-0 win, Amari Morgan-Smith was given the winner but Ashley Hemmings is claiming it.

There was also a huge result for Ebbsfleet, who won 1-0 at Maidenhead United through Dom Samuel.

AFC Fylde fans saw Luke Charman and Nick Haughton goals put the Coasters into a commanding position but they threw it away at home to FC Halifax Town, 2-2 it ended.

There was late drama at Dagenham as Inih Effiong’s 96th minute goal won it for the hosts seconds after Josh Taylor drew Dorking Wanderers level.

There were some big scorelines in the National League North but there were no goals for the leaders.

Tamworth drew 0-0 with Boston United as Scunthorpe United had postponement frustration at Darlington.

Warrington hit Buxton for six. Issac Buckley-Ricketts slammed in a fine hat-trick. Chester put in a fantastic performance at Chorley to take all the points, Tom Peers’ first half brace did the job.

Curzon Ashton got the job done just half an hour in at King’s Lynn Town. Stefan Mols, Adam Barton and James Spencer put the Nash in cruise control after an alarming display by the strugglers, it ended 4-0.

Aidan Rutledge scored again as Scarborough Athletic as they beat Blyth Spartans. Tommy O’Sullivan grabbed Brackley’s winner at Bishop’s Stortford, their fifth win in a row.

Paul Blackett’s brave earned a win for South Shields against Farsley as Hereford beat Rushall and Gloucester grabbed a huge victory at fellow strugglers Banbury.

In the National League South, leaders Yeovil Town’s game at Truro was off.

They still had a good night - Worthing drew against Slough Town, Nathan Minhas’ opener after a few seconds put them behind before Ollie Pearce struck.

Maidstone drop points too. Mo Faal hit the target but they couldn’t beat Braintree as Joe Grimwood made it 1-1. Bath beat Weston-super-Mare, Cody Cooke earned the 1-0 success.

St Albans City were too strong for Havant, it ended 4-1, as Brandon Goodship scored again as Weymouth added to Taunton Town’s worries.

Will Jenkins-Davies’ goal got Torquay United going at Chippenham but he was sent off as Matt McClure quickly levelled. Myles Judd scored late to earn Hemel Hempstead the win over Farnborough.

Aveley turned it around to beat Eastbourne Borough as Tonbridge won at Dover 2-1.
