The four National League title contenders all kept their composure as the race for the EFL intensified.

Hartlepool United won the day’s big game against Chesterfield live on BT Sport - and incredibly have now taken 36 points from a possible 38 at home.

They won it 3-1, the game all but over by half-time and they are now 16 unbeaten.

They stormed ahead through Rhys Oates, before an unfortunate own goal from Josef Yarney earned Pools breathing space.

They wrapped it up through Luke Armstrong before Chesterfield snatched hope through Fraser Kerr on the hour.

Torquay United won once again - a 3-1 victory over Eastleigh enough to retain top spot.

Billy Waters’ cracker, Asa Hall and Jake Andrews kept the Gulls a point ahead of the chasing pack.

Sutton United are now back in form - a third win in four was secured against Aldershot Town.

Donovan Wilson put them ahead before Ricky Miller found the leveller.
