What Happened On Saturday In The National League?

The National League leaders dropped points - but not one of the chasing pack could take advantage.

Table topping Barrow couldn’t get another win as they drew 1-1 with Boreham Wood but it turned out to be another great day for them.

Josh Kay gave Ian Evatt’s pacesetters the lead after 34 minutes, but they didn’t count on Tyrone Marsh - he drew the Wood level, news the Bluebirds’ title rivals badly needed.

But all of the other sides at the top lost as they blew the chance to up the heat on Barrow.

In-form Harrogate - the team with the best home record in the division - went down 2-0 at home to Wrexham, who had a worse away return than anyone.

Goals from James Jennings and JJ Hooper secured a third away victory in five for the Dragons, but it was an afternoon of what ifs for Simon Weaver and Harrogate.

Yeovil, in third, also suffered a big set-back. The Glovers succumbing to Shaun Donnellan’s first half winner as Woking won again at home.

Bromley also fluffed their lines, Sim Akinola’s winner enough for Barnet to escape Hayes Lane with three points.

FC Halifax were the only side sitting in the top seven tonight to win - they deepened Chorley’s problems, Cameron King’s on target to grab another win for the Shaymen.

Solihull Moors know they have work to do to get back on track, it’s just one win in seven after Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Sutton United.

Down at the bottom, Dagenham gained their biggest result of the season as the ended Notts County’s great run.

Alex Reid was at the double to secure a first win for delighted new manager Daryl McMahon.

The big game in the bottom four ended 1-1, Nick Haughton claimed a point for AFC Fylde 15 minutes from time after Chesterfield surged ahead through another Jonathan Smith goal.

Stockport County’s play-off hopes were hit with a 2-0 defeat at Hartlepool, Mark Shelton and Aidan Keena’s goals moved Pools to within two points of Jim Gannon’s team.

Maidenhead gave their season a boost with a 2-0 win over Eastleigh, while there was nothing to separate Torquay United and Ebbsfleet at Plainmoor.

Dover beat Aldershot Town 2-0, Kevin Lokko and Shad Ogie took the Whites into the top half.
