What Happened On Saturday Across The National League

Significant results at either end of all three divisions were recorded as Saturday’s action didn’t disappoint.

Barnet are still in control of the National League after two goal Lee Ndlovu endured victory at home to Solihull Moors.

Their EFL case was helped by Forest Green Rovers’ first defeat since September - Braintree Town were just too strong as first half goals from Kyrell Lisbie and Tom Blackwell proved a big problem for Steve Cotterill.

York City won when they were expected to as two goal Ollie Pearce shot down Ebbsfleet United as Oldham Athletic failed to make Sutton United pay, it ended 0-0.

It also ended goalless as Maidenhead United picked up a point at Hartlepool United.

Altrincham enhanced their play-off hopes by winning at Gateshead, Kian Taylor struck early.

Jamie Cooke’s goal was enough for FC Halifax to post another win in their promotion charge as they got the better of Boston United.

Down at the bottom, Wealdstone got a vital win at Yeovil Town, Josh Grant hit the winner.

A late Liam Hogan own goal gave Southend United a share of the spoils against Rochdale, while Kyle Finn earned Tamworth a point at Woking.

The Hampshire derby went the way of Eastleigh as Aldershot were consigned to defeat by Tyrese Shade. Will Hugill earned AFC Fylde a point at home to Dagenham.

Rampant Chester put a challenging National League North week to one side as they thrashed Rushall Olympic 4-0, Tom Peers scored twice.

Scunthorpe United keep the heat on by beating Scarborough 2-2, Callum Roberts added to his tally with another goal.

Defender Mark Ellis scored yet again as Chorley beat South Shields 2-1. Connor Hall got Brackley Town’s winner at Marine.

Needham Market are in great form and had four different scorers as they won 4-0 against Oxford City.

Two goal Ewan Williams made sure David Stockdale got off to a poor start as Farsley Celtic’s new manger at Leamington.

Elsewhere it was a winning weekend for Hereford at King’s Lynn, Kidderminster at Alfreton and Radcliffe at Buxton after Matthew Sargent’s 92nd minute winner.

Dorking Wanderers continue to lead the way in the National League South.

Josh Taylor got the winner at Welling United but Torquay United also earned three points after Matt Carson’s winning goal against in-form Hornchurch.

There were shocks for other title contenders.

Worthing went down 4-0 at Slough Town, Slavi Spasov scored twice. Eastbourne Borough also lost 3-0 at Boreham Wood, Kwesi Appiah added two to his tally.

Maidstone United are off the pace, they drew 0-0 at Hemel Hempstead but Will Dean’s winner at Tonbridge Angels keeps Truro City involved.

Matt McClure was Chippenham’s match winner at Hampton & RB as Kane Critclow scored two more for Chelmsford City as they won 3-1 at Salisbury.

Sam Youngs as Enfield Town continue their great form with Chesham United flattered by his two goals.

Meanwhile, St Albans, Farnborough and Weston-super-Mare all enjoyed a winning Saturday.
