What Happened On Monday Across The National League?

By Sam Elliott

The second instalment of a bumper Easter weekend certainly didn't disappoint.

Leaders Sutton United may not be winning games like they were but they aren’t losing matches.

They drew for a fifth time in six, 0-0 at Solihull Moors - and they maintain their two point advantage.

Hartlepool United will be thrilled with their point at Boreham Wood.

They had to play most of the game with forward Rhys Oates in goal and nobody would be happier than he was when Ritchie Bennett pounced to make it 2-2.

Torquay United don’t think they are out of the title race.

Sam Sherring struck three minutes into time added on to break Wrexham hearts and earn the Gulls a dramatic 1-0 win - and they visit Sutton in just over a week.

Jimmy Knowles’ wonderful hat-trick, pictured, inspired Notts County to a 4-2 win at Woking, their second victory over Easter.

FC Halifax won’t be discounted from the play-offs - they held their nerve to beat Weymouth 3-2.

Jake Hyde, Tom Bradbury and Jeff King all hit the target for Pete Wild’s team.

Ben House’s winner gave Eastleigh a lift, the Spitfires leaving Maidenhead United with a 1-0 win.

Wealdstone made things worse for their big rivals Barnet.

Dennon Lewis scored twice in the simple 5-1 win.

Aldershot Town can’t be counted out of the race for the top seven.

The Shots’ 2-0 success at Dagenham & Redbridge moves them closer - goals from Mo Bettamer and Jon Nouble just after half-time was enough in East London.

King’s Lynn Town, meanwhile, beat Altrincham 2-0. Kairo Mitchell’s double did the job at The Walks.

The live BT Sport game between Stockport County and Bromley failed to catch fire, 0-0 it ended.
