What Happened In The National League South On Saturday?

By Tom Scott

It's all to play for in the National League South at both ends after the last games of the decade threw out some huge results.

Just four points separate seventh and 12th while at the bottom, only three points sit between Billericay in 15th and St Albans who sit just above the bottom two.

The title race is hotting up too - Wealdstone doing the business to see off St Albans through Dennon Lewis.

With their games in hand, Havant & Waterlooville are well in the mix.

The Hawks were nodded in front by Alfie Rutherford against Hungerford Town before Danny Kedwell and Wes Fogden had them safe at the break.

Dorking Wanderers are up to second after goals from Tom Richards and Ed Harris saw them past Chippenham Town.

The Wanderers leapfrogged Slough Town who could only draw with Hemel Hempstead while Billericay were one up through Themis Kefalas before drawing with Chelmsford.

Dartford made it back-to-back clean sheets and 3-0 wins after ending the year with a win over Tonbridge Angels.

Darren McQueen had the Darts ahead in the first-half before goals from Elliott Romain and Charlie Sheringham made sure.

Eastbourne Borough ended a six-game wait for a win to see off Welling while it was goalless between Hampton & Richmond and Bath City.

James Blanchfield's goal was enough for Concord Rangers to see off Braintree - the Iron now winless in seven.

Maidstone netted twice in either half to make light work of Dulwich Hamlet.

Ibby Akanbi and Ross Marshall hit the first two for the Stones before Gavin Hoyte and Iffy Allen sent them eighth.

Elsewhere, Weymouth fans had to wait until the 70th minute for their first goal from Yemi Odubade.

Abdulai Baggie hit a second before a late consolation from Reece Fleet saw Oxford City make it tight.

Saturday's National League South final scores:
Billericay Town 1-1 Chelmsford City
