What Happened In The National League On Tuesday Night?

By Tom Scott

There was drama on Bonfire Night across the National League - so who lit up the sky and who failed to get off the ground?

Dave Challinor is waiting in the wings to take over at Hartlepool and was in the Victoria Road stands on Tuesday night.

They say you learn more from a defeat and his new side will have given him food for thought as they went down to Solihull Moors.

As for the Moors, they have now only lost once in six National League outings since early October.

Kidderminster Harriers twice led in a six-goal thriller at Aggborough - but it was the visitors who took the spoils.

First Ashley Hemmings and then Richard Peniket had the hosts in front but goals from Chris Henderson and then Rory McAuley had King's Lynn level at the break - Adam Marriott and Ryan Jarvis put the Linnets out of sight in the second-half.

JJ O'Donnell had Gateshead in control from the second minute against Curzon Ashton as the Heed went within one point of the top seven.

Just above them are Brackley and Spennymoor who couldn't be separated - playing out a goalless draw at St James Park.

A ten minute flury of goals started and ended the scoring at the Beveree as Dartford overcame Hampton & Richmond.

Jake Gray pegged back the Darts after Ky
Marsh-Brown edged them in front - but and Elliott Romain penalty saw the away side take all three points.
