What Happened In The National League On Saturday?

By Tom Scott

It was another action-packed Saturday in the National League - with the races for survival and promotion no clearer.

Notts County produced the result of the day with a stunning four-goal haul against Eastleigh.

The Magpies have now scored 16 goals in their last five games, winning all five too in the process.

Kyle Wootton hit a brace while Kristian Dennis and got his third in two games, the same as Callum Roberts who rounded off a fine afternoon.

Ebbsfleet United kept up their recent impressive away form with a third straight win on the road.

Gozie Ugwu hit a 16th minute strike to see off high-fliers Halifax Town in front of the BT Sport cameras.

AFC Fylde did their survival hopes a huge favour with back-to-back wins for the first time since November.

Danny Philliskirk's first-half strike was enough for the Coasters to see off fellow strugglers Aldershot Town.

Chesterfield might have thought they'd won things against Dover with Tom Denton's penalty ten minutes from time. But Nassim L'Ghoul struck late in proceedings to thwart the Spireites.

Stockport County mounted an impressive turnaround win after falling behind to Maidenhead United.

Odysseus Alfa had the home side in front before Ash Palmer and Liam McAlinden's goal boosted the Hatters' into the top seven.

Elsewhere, Sutton United and Hartlepool United shared the spoils - with Gavin Holohan cancelling out Isaac Olaofe's early opener.

Saturday's National League final scores:
AFC Fylde 1-0 Aldershot Town
